Mum made a HUGE mistake... and vows never to shop with her family again

Karen Alpert made the ultimate no-no in parenting, and brought her husband and kids to her favourite store to shop.

Karen innocently thought it would be a nice family trip, and she needed to pick up toothpaste anyhow.

What Karen didn’t realise, however, is that she would lose her patience, slowly but surely.

“It’s basically the perfect way to destroy that awesome inside fuzzy feeling you get when you walk into the store.”

After watching her two kids fight over who was going to ride on the shopping cart, which she insisted they were too old for, Karen ended up pushing both of them around the store.

But when her husband requested a bottle of 7up and she told him to go get some, her patience became quite thin.

“He left me with the douchenuggets for like 16 hours. Seriously? SERIOUSLY? How F’ing hard can it be to find the soda aisle?”

But then there was the self-service check-out scenario – patience was not a virtue at this point.

Karen, annoyed at how badly the trip was going asked her husband to do the check-out.

She then proceeded to share a public apology to other shop-goers: “I’d like to apologise to everyone who was standing behind us in line.”

“Because holy crap, watching him scan and bag the items was one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever watched. He’d scan a box. No beep. He’d try again. No beep.”

At this point Karen wanted to tell her husband to look for the bar code and the item would in fact scan, but she held her cool.

And seconds later, she finally cracked.

Her husband attempted to pay for their items by using his credit card.

Karen in a state of shock, rushes over to use her special store card, where you can avail of a five percent discount.

And the moral of that episode, according to a traumatised Karen: “Always lie and tell your hubby you have a doctor’s appointment so he’ll watch the kids while you go shopping ALONE.”

We can only imagine Karen’s face at the check-out. Do you have similar shopping experiences with your family?
