This mum gave birth in the Red Sea and the pictures are mind-blowing

Stunning pictures of a Russian woman giving birth in the Red Sea in Egypt have gone viral.

The amazing pictures were taken by Mohamed Elsaid from a balcony of his hotel, Dar Dahab.

According to The Daily Mail, he shared the pictures with his  niece Hadia Hosny El Said who posted them to Facebook.

The incredible moment went viral, and it's easy to see why.

Swimming out with the doctor, the mother looks like she's just been for a dip instead of just giving birth.

Hadia said the older man, who is a doctor, specialises in water births, meaning the delivery was arranged ahead of time. The identity of the mother and baby are unknown, although both appear to be heathy adn happy from the photographs.

After the birth the placenta was placed in a bowl along with the baby and carried to shore.

The couple and the doctor then calmly emerged from the water, before going over to another child for a loving family moment.

While the popularity of water births is rising, there has not been extensive research done about sea births. The high level of salt in sea water could prove harmful to babies if swallowed. The temperature of the sea is also unpredictable, possible leading to hypothermia, experts warned Live Science.

What do you think? Would you embrace an ocean birth?
