The Royal Mail did the kindest thing for a boy who wanted to send a letter to his dad in heaven

Christmas is a wonderful time of year for many, but we often forget that the festive season can be extremely hard for those who have suffered a great loss in their family.

Whether you recently said goodbye to your grandmother or lost a sibling at a young age, Christmas can be a constant reminder of their absence.

One young boy who lost his dad knows this all too well.

His mum Teri Copland took to Facebook to share the moving letter her boy Jase asked Royal Mail to send and it will make your heart melt.

Teri shared a letter of an envelope which read: “Mr Postman, can you take this to heaven for my dad's birthday."

The Royal Mail responded to the youngster and said they managed to post the letter to his dad.

“We succeeded in the delivery of your letter, to your dad in heaven. This was a difficult challenge avoiding stars and other galactic objects on route to heaven,”Sean Milligan, Assistant Delivery Office Manager wrote.

She wrote: “A few weeks ago my 7-year-old son posted this card to his dad in heaven and today he got a lovely reply from the postman.”

The mum continued: “I actually cannot state how emotional he is knowing his dad got his card. You didn’t have to make the effort to do this you could have just ignored it but the fact that you have made the effort for a little boy you’ve never met is such a lovely thing to do, Royal Mail.”

She gushed: “You’ve just restored my faith in humanity and thank you. It honestly means the world to him.”

The mum asked everyone to spread the word about this incredible act of kindness so the Royal Mail know just how much she appreciated the gesture.
